Description
The STK3311-SA is an integrated ambient and infraredlight to digital converter with a built-in 850nm VCSEL(Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) diode and I2Cinterface. This device provides not only ambient lightsensing to allow robust backlight/display brightnesscontrol but also infrared sensing to allow proximityestimation featured with interrupt function.For ambient light sensing, the STK3311-SA incorporatesa photodiode, timing controller and ADC in a single chip.The excellent spectral response is designed to be closeto human eye. The STK3311-SA is suitable for detectinga wide range of light intensity environment.For proximity sensing, the STK3311-SA alsoincorporates a photodiode, timing controller and ADC inthe same chip. The spectral response is optimized forwavelength 850nm infrared light. The STK3311-SAprovides programmable duty setting to drive 850nmVCSEL diode and due to the low driving current of theVCSEL diode, the power consumption of the wholeproximity application can be largely reduced.The STK3311-SA has excellent temperaturecompensation, robust on-chip refresh rate settingwithout external components. Software shutdown modecontrol is provided for power saving application. TheSTK3311-SA operating voltage range is 2.7V to 3.6V.
